It is stupid for the goverment to collect any monies from them as they did not uphold the laws to begin with. The victims of identity theft are paying for a problem they not cause!

I think that’s a wonderful idea, for I have been a victim of ID theft twice now, which has cost me almost that much. $18,897.00. But trying to convince the government is going to be another story, {maybe 20 G each might work} it seems to me that whatever we deserve, we must fight so very hard to keep, just so we can end up paying so dearly for what we earned.
Great idea will never happen.
